How to Get Accepted to Y-Combinator
August 8 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm UTC+0
Register here! https://bit.ly/2O35iIu
Getting into Y-Combinator is hard. It doesn’t just require you to have a potentially billion-dollar business, you also need to know:
How to describe it well
What’s important to talk about, and
How to frame your imaging for the YC audience
In this workshop, we will work through a few successful example applications — including mine! — to discuss what made them successful. Following this, we will have a Q&A session to answer questions that you may have about your own applications or about application framing to help you prepare for the mid-October deadline.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Any companies that have not raised a Series-A round and are interested in applying to accelerators
SPEAKER: JEFFREY GAROON
Jeff Garoon (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffgaroon/) is a Y-Combinator alumni (W16) and currently serves as COO of FlowCommand. At FlowCommand, he is responsible for all hardware and firmware development in the Houston office.
Jeff spent his early career a Production Engineer and Lead Completion Engineer at Oxy USA. He has been on Y-Combinator’s alumni application review committee for the last 3 cohorts, has raised two rounds of financing, and manages a staff of 8 engineers. Jeff is also a member of IncubateUSC, where he has assisted in writing undergraduate coursework on accelerators and incubators.
If you register, please attend. We are purposefully capping this event so that the group size is smaller and enables more time to dig in to your questions about your own application. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration so someone else can attend.
If the event is sold out, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the waitlist and we will let you know if a spot opens up!
