With Founders Focus – How We Made It Big, our Moderator, unpacks the tactics Kim Roxie and Jovante Ham have employed to navigate the startup ecosystem. They are taking brick and mortar businesses and pivoting them to scale. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions directly to the founders.

About the Speakers

Kim Roxie, Founder & CEO, LAMIK Beauty

Kim Roxie is the founder of LAMIK Beauty, the tech-enabled clean color cosmetics line. Roxie was honored as HBJ’s 40 under 40 this year and National Business Journal’s 100 Influential Young Executives list. Roxie recently completed E-commerce Accelerator SKUATX.

 

Jovante Ham, CEO, Melanoid Exchange

Jovante Ham is the co-founder and CEO of Melanoid Exchange, one of Houston bourgeoning startups and combines e-commerce with online booking “to help entrepreneurs of color connect with the world”. They have an app on IOS and Android you can download today. Since growing up as a young kid in Fort Lauderdale, Jovante Ham has taken the lessons he learned growing up in a tough community to become founder and CEO of Melanoid Exchange, a.k.a. The Hood Scholar. This former aerospace engineer is tackling one of the largest target acquisition markets we have explored so far: E-commerce.
