Grillside Chat with Shankar Ram
Every entrepreneur has a unique journey. Shankar Ram is no exception. He started in Houston for a mapping company (Synercom) for about 2 years, moved to Austin (Schlumberger) and then returned to Houston as a consultant for Texaco. In Austin TX, in the 1980’s he put together the first digital computing in oilfield logging trucks, a first at the time. Working on the first applications of GIS mapping, something that is now standard location services in today’s mobile devices, his entrepreneurial instincts took him to California. He founded a series of companies, using location services technology to solve logistics and supply chain validation problems, achieving successes along the way.
