Immigration & Visa: President’s new order
About this Event
On June 22, 2020, the Trump administration issued a new presidential proclamation suspending the entry of individuals to the United States on select nonimmigrant visa holders ( H-1B, H-2B, J-1, and L-1), as well as their dependents.
In this live presentation, we will cover:
- the immediate impact for companies and individuals
- the solutions possible for companies and individuals
You will be able to ask your questions to Oxana Bowman, Senior Attorney in Corporate Immigration at Foster.
The order will primarily impact individuals currently outside the United States seeking a visa stamp at a U.S. consulate or embassy abroad. Hundreds of thousands of foreigners seeking employment in the U.S. are on “hold” and foreign companies are not able anymore to send their employees abroad. Future is uncertain.
For the ones already in the U.S., the order does not impact foreign nationals with a current visa but many of them are wondering about renewal, visa extension time and pursuing permanent residency.
